Support » Plugin: Paid Memberships Pro » Not removing users from wp_pmpro_membership_users table

When I delete a user I see that the user is still in the wp_pmpro_membership_users table. The user doesn’t show in the membership list but the entry should get deleted from this database table.

    Hi @joneiseman,

Thank you for using Paid Memberships Pro.

I believe this information does not get removed from the pmpro_membership_users table. Their status should be changed to “cancel”.

This allows Paid Memberships Pro to reference this data at a later stage if need be (reports etc.)

I hope this clears things up.

    Hi Andrew,

The status gets changed to “inactive” and shows up as a “cancelled” membership in the membership stats. It’s really an orphaned entry since the “user_id” is no longer valid (the user_id is no longer in the wp_users table). Anyway, now I understand why it’s left there.

Thanks for the feedback Jon, does the user get deleted from WordPress?

I’ve added this to our development schedule to look into and discuss this matter further.

    Thank you for your understanding.

Yes, the user gets deleted from WordPress. Go to Users->All Users and you can delete any of the users. This will remove the user from the wp_users table (and it also will remove any references to that user from the wp_usermeta table). However, the entry for that user remains in the pmpro_membership_users table. I can also delete users using wp_delete_user function and I see the same behaviour. So, for example, if I delete 2000 users and add them back again they will all have new user_ids but the old entries remain in the pmpro_membership_users table (and show up as cancelled members in the report).
