The IP address in the log is always displaying the IP for the server the website is hosted on. The IP for the person downloading is not logging. I tested on a few browsers/devices/networks (logged in and logged out) with same result.

The downloads are PDF’s. They were uploaded via FTP to the server (wp-content/uploads/custom folder), then linked using the plugin ‘add file’ feature. Downloads working perfect, and storing the user agent correctly, just not the correct IP.

Should the content be added to the wp-content/uploads/dlm_uploads using the plugin upload feature for the stats to track correctly? I expect not, given the URL link feature, but any help appreciated.

Could you advise on possible configuration to have the IP log record correctly.
    Thanks

    Hey there,

Is your server possibly running a proxy server? If you’re not managing your own server, could you please ask your host?

    Kind Regards,

    Hi Barry,

Thank you for the reply. The hosting is not proxy. It is VPS. I have tried quite a few options to solve this. Any help would be greatly appreciated
