Support » Plugin: Yoast Duplicate Post » Not recommended

  • I was asked to find why a WP dashboard was slow, turns out this plugin was doing API calls to a non-responsive server. I deleted it and went looking for my trusty duplicate post plugin only to find it had spawned into this monster.

This move is about as far from the open source spirit as you can get. I copied the most recent version of the Duplicate Post plugin to github and I’ll be using that from now on.

    Hi @jdewit,
you can check the source code of the plugin both in WordPress.org SVN and in GitHub to see that no calls are made to any remote server.
Probably it wouldn’t even be permitted by the WordPress.org guidelines without user consent, so you wouldn’t be able to find Yoast Duplicate Post here in this repository, if it were the case.
Can you point out precisely the lines you are referring to?

Could it be that your copy of the plugin wasn’t corrupted by some malware code? If so, beware that the infection could still be present in your website!

    Let us know,
    thanks for your help
