    On the Testimonials > Settings screen under Troubleshooting there is an option for logging the notification emails. It should be enabled by default. If there is a log file you will see a link “Download the log file”. If so, please send that to me at chris at wpmission.com.

    Is the “from” address on the gutteringbygary.com domain?

    I had it set to that but I changed it because he said he didn’t get any notifications. So I know have my gmail address and I’m not getting any notifications either.

    Logged failed emails only is selected by default. It says there is no log file to download

    I’m pretty sure that trying to send from gmail without a plugin like Postman SMTP to authorize it will never be delivered. The “to” address can be anything.

    No log file is good news. That means that WordPress was able to construct and send the email from your server. So it sounds like the plugin is working properly.

    If there was a log file, it would mean that the email never left the server. WordPress is able to record the completed attempt whether it succeeded or failed, but it has no way of knowing if the email was delivered.

    To be sure, you can change that setting to “Log both successful and failed emails” then the log will say either
    [response] => mail successful
    or
    [response] => mail failed
    plus the email details.

    Right, but when I had just the gutteringbygary email he didn’t get any emails either though..?

    I apologize…his email which is a comcast account.

    So it was a Comcast email, not a domain email. Will the comcast not be sent either until you use Postman SMTP?

    Without a plugin like Postman SMTP or a service like Mandrill, the “from” address should always be on the site’s domain.

    If he doesn’t have a domain address, do I just make it up? Or does he need to have a domain email or else I need to install postman?

    Plugin Contributor Chris Dillon

    (@cdillon27)

    Yep, just make it up. You can use things like “wordpress” or “noreply” or “notifications” if you want to filter them in your Gmail, for example.

    (@emaya77)

    OH! I never knew you could do that. I will try noreply@gutteringbygary.com and do a test. But I can put a gmail address in the to field?

    Plugin Contributor Chris Dillon

    (@cdillon27)

    Yep. I do this all the time.

    Not sure if I should start another thread or not, because this issue has to do with the same site. The Advanced nocaptcha isn’t working. It just tells me

    I have entered in all codes correctly.

    I have it turned to None for right now in case anyone tries submitting his testimonials form, but if you want me to turn it back on let me know!

    Sorry it just tells me that it failed and to try again.

    Can you enable noCaptcha so I can try?
