[resolved] Not receiving emails after WordPress Update (8 posts)

    Hi there,

    I have been using contact form 7 successfully for many months and after the WordPress update to 3.8.2 I have not received any emails through from any contact form on my site.

    I have integrated SalesForce which is still receiving the Leads through when a contact form is submitted however I never receive the WordPress email through to my account.

    I am a but of a novice so any help would be appreciated.

    hi it seems I am having exactly the same problem.

    been working fine up until the other day.

    very frustrating!

    Hi Exponential, I've managed to sort the problem I'm not sure how yours is configured however mine have always been setup to deliver emails to either gmail or Hotmail accounts.

    What I done to solve this was create a pop email account on the same domain as my website i.e email@mydomain.com

    once I pointed all form submissions to this new pop email in the contact form and refreshed my webpage, I then tested my forms and they all started working again delivering the messages to my new address.

    I hope this makes sense? try this it worked for me!

    No, this is not the case for me as I am sending emails to a Exchange account which is email@mydomain.com.

    I have resolved the issue by installing WP-Mail-SMTP plugin


    I think this works by reconfiguring the wp_mail() function to use SMTP instead of mail().

    Therefore it suggests the problem is something to do with mail() but I don't know what exactly as I'm only a novice.

    The plugin seems to be OK for me though.

    I am having the same issue and solved it by using this method:


    This is really frustrating though since now all my customer contact emails are grouped together as conversation since it looks like they are all coming from the same person. Hopefully Contact Form 7 can do something with an update that will bring us back to the way it was before.

    This is not usually something that CF7 can do anything about. Contact Form 7 uses the standard recommended methods used to send emails in WordPress. If people are unable to send emails from the CF7 plugin, it is likely that they are unable to send emails from WordPress in general.​​

    Importantly the sending and receiving of emails depends heavily on both the server where the WordPress installation is hosted and the email configuration of the local computer where the emails are supposed to be received. If people are having CF7 email problems, they will need to investigate this issue in detail for your particular local configurations.

    Also despite any similarity in symptoms it is likely that the solutions required in many cases are completely different.​​​​

    I also have this problem.
    jazzy forms still works but cf7 has stopped working in the last couple of weeks (I use it to email files)
