Not receiving any emails

Hi there. First off, great plugin! I’m using the free version currently, but will most likely upgrade.
My issue: for some reason I have not been able to receive any email notifications from my workflow. Right now I’m using the sample workflow and want to send email notifications to the appropriate user for each step. (When editing the workflow and clicking “Advanced Details” there is email content there, but it never gets sent.) Workflow > Settings > Email is where I put in my email information. I even tried using a different email account and checked both spam/trash but have no emails about my workflow.
Please advise.
