Not receiving any emails (5 posts)

I've recently discovered that I'm no longer receiving emails through the contact form on my website.

Having deactivated and reinstalled all my plugins this hasn't rectified the problem so I read that this could be a wordpress problem and to try the "forgotten password" option to see if I receive an email that way.

Needless to say I didn't receive an email so clearly something major is amiss with my wordpress. Initially I thought it was the contact form but as I'm not receiving emails when I request a password reminder either I suspect it is wordpress related.

The only thing I can think of that's changed recently was an upgrade to wordpress 3.5.2.

I'm at a total loss as to how I go about fixing those and would really appreciate some help.

    Kind regards

Try installing the wp-smtp plugin. You will have to use a custom email accounts, you could just sign up for a free one from gmail specifically from this, and see if that resolves your issue.

    Much obliged.

Works a treat and such a simple fix. Really grateful for that.

Any idea what the problem is in the first place and why it suddenly all stopped working?

Could have to do with your host. I have never found the built in email functions reliable.

Well thanks again and hopefully this change will prevent any further issues.
