Now Ready For Primetime! Review Edited
-
EDIT – Much improved over initial launch – Liking Site Kit much better!
#1 Updates don’t call for re-authentication!
– This was a pain, but appears to be resolved. I am no longer having to re-authenticate every time there is an update of Site Kit. As my clients like to log in and see the stats, this fix is huge.#2 Authentication appears far more stable.
– All the services I have authenticated for client sites resolve to the 15 client and 5 personal websites I have installed Site Kit on. No more lagging or lack of data.In summary, this plugin is now highly functional and a real time saver. My focus on the organic SEO performance of client sites and the Site Kit dashboard does help save time. With several different SEO plugins installed across the sites, convenient access to the data as Site Kit provides, is helping me have measurable improvements to organic SEO faster.
Initial 1 star review text below…
From a professional standpoint, this plugin is hit and miss which adds up to one star as a waste of time. I have installed this in ten websites on four different hosts including Inmotion, WPEngine, GoDaddy, and A2Hosting.
In the case of one host, where five websites are hosted identically, some websites showed data immediately, some show partial, (waiting on analytics), and some show no data after 96 hours. Other hosts with bare-bones installs of Site Kit, done after reading a page of known conflicts, it is still a sketch mess of partial data, “re-authorization requests”, or data that doesn’t match the Search Console itself.
I can’t imagine Google getting outdone by “Joe in his basement”, but that appears to be the case right now.
For the time being, I am sticking with directly accessing the console because this plugin wastes more time versus logging in directly to the various products it is suppose to incorporate into the back end of a WordPress website.
This might not be your experience. I have two of ten sites that are functional, 20% success equals 100% fail when you are wasting client’s time.
