Well, my blog is looking/working the way I want it now I think – what do you think?

The only thing that doesn’t comply (transitional) is the book thing on the side – any hints? I can’t put a <div> inside a <span> apparently.

I’d start using XHTML as best as I can, but I know it’s hard to. Like right now, I’m still using the _blank command to open a page on a new link, and supposedly XHTML 1.0 transitional says it’s a no no.
But anyway, your site looks great. Keep it up.

Correct, you can’t have a div inside a span. but you can have a span inside a div. I’d say get rid of the span, or turn it into a div instead.
