The category exclusion should work in 5.5, even using see sample tweet, are you sure isn’t working ?
Also Start Tweet in this version doesn’t post immediately, it post after the interval.
Do you see the 0 . 0 0 error after refresh also ?
It happens the same to me. I have it every 0.5 hours (30 min) and it doesn’t do anything. If I try to make it every hour it happens the same.
They also said they will add the possibility of adding the featured image of the post in the tweet. Does anyone know anything about this two problems?

Regarding the feature image, I don’t really see the point, you can use the twitter meta tag to add it for your posts and it will be displayed, I am missing something ?

After hitting Start Tweet, I see “Tweet Old Post is set to tweet on a 1 hours interval, and the next tweet will take place in: 0 days, 19 hours, XX min and XX sec”
Does that mean I have to wait for 19 hours for the first post to come out? Why that long?

It’s not working for me either.
Ever since the update, it hasn’t tweeted. I’ve reconfigured the settings, uninstalled and reinstalled, and still nothing. I hit Start Tweet and it gives me my interval. I wait for the interval to count down, it hits 0, and still no tweets.
Same here. It was working fine until we upgraded the plugin yesterday to version 5.7. Now it won’t send out a tweet when we hit “Start Tweet” and it won’t send out tweets at the hour interval we’ve chosen. Plugin screen says next tweet in 0 days, 00 hours, 00 min and 00 sec.
We have two WordPress blogs and the plugin isn’t working on either of them.
Not working at all since upgrade – also the “exclude” section has disappeared -I used that all the time to “exclude” seasonal post from being tweeted. it was such a great program until this upgrade

@greatimaginations it doesn’t tweet because probably there is no suitable post or there is an error, if you want I can dig into it, see sample tweet is working ?

@peter @all you can always unistall it and go back to 4.0.10 : http://downloads.wordpress.org/plugin/tweet-old-post.4.0.10.zip, the only thing is that the older version won’t be maintained/supported .
Just improved scheduling and added debug messages
@codeinwp I also tried start/stop as you suggested but nothing happened still.
Btw, I just updated to the latest version. Now I’m getting the following error when I hit the start tweet

This is a error that is coming from twitter, try to use different hashtags, shorters, text etc.
Shity update!
Nothing is working now, and we’ve lost the ability to exclude post manually.
10 updates in a day, and still no results.
Worst, it looks like Twitter is now considering Tweet Old Post as spam:
Error for your last tweet was :’This request looks like it might be automated. To protect our users from spam and other malicious activity, we can’t complete this action right now. Please try again later.’
Hopefully someone will fork that plugin ASAP. I now am pretty sure that I won’t ever buy any stuff of Themeisle

Just upgraded to version 6.0. Now when I click “Start Tweet,” I get the same error message as reported above. (“This request looks like it might be automated. To protect our users from spam and other malicious activity, we can’t complete this action right now. Please try again later.”)

Thanks a lot for feedback, it looks like twitter is blocking our app to post links, text messages are working fine.
I just sent a support message to twitter if we won’t get any answer, we are thinking to revert to the old twitter app while keeping the new interface, but since this will require to re-add the accounts probably, I will wait a little bit.
