If you can be more specific, maybe I can help you get started, though it’s certainly possible that your theme doesn’t make using it easy.

I appreciate your response it is , i am sure nothing to do with the build or usage of the plugin. It is my attempt to help others. I have been of the belief for some time now that wordpress plugins should be graded. 1. Plug and play 2. If you want this function you are going to have to put in the work. 3. Degree from MIT required
Yours falls in the middle category. I loaded the plugin went to instructions all good Mad esure I had images in my category thingys. But nope no featured image. tried a different theme nope no go. In one section it started to talk of adding to theme files ….and that would be me out. to hard basket look for another solution or plugin.

Understood, and I’m sorry you’re finding it too hard to get the plug-in working for you. Still, if the themes you are trying are from the WordPress repository or free themes from somewhere else, I’d be interested for my own purposes – and possibly it would be helpful for others – if you could name them. It’s also conceivable that your host may have you on an outdated version of PHP, even if you’re on the latest or a recent version of WP. However, it goes without saying that it’s completely up to you how you want to handle your site!

I am using two themes with the multiple theme changer plugin one of the themes is the p2 one Now I know for some weird reason they choose not to support featured images thats ok I switch to the theme form wordpress “Aster” host is the cheap and nasty ipage dont know what version of php they are running. Most coders give the likes of godaddy and ipage a hard time but the thing is half the world uses them so shouldnt we build within what they provide? The approach I have when looking to achieve something is 1. search google with the request ” add image column to category page wordpress plugin ” Then I find a plugin result try it see if it works yes /no No move onto to next plugin choice. Hope all this rambling helps

I’m not familiar with “multiple theme changer,” but, yeah, P2 doesn’t appear to incorporate Featured Images. It doesn’t seem to have much use for Categories or Tags either.

As for Aster, it seemed to work fine with this plugin, so I can’t be sure what your problem is.

People have all sorts of different ideas about their sites, and how to go about customizing them. I don’t really think it’s likely to be an old PHP problem here, it was just a thought that crossed my mind, since another user who was using an out-of-date version of PHP encountered problems for that reason (although I re-wrote some code to work for old as well as current versions).

Anyway, I take you to be saying you don’t really want to try to make this plug-in work for you – which is fine, your choice entirely – but we seem to have moved beyond “support” issues – so, if you have no objection, I’ll mark this thread “resolved.”
