• I can’t consistently get the WordPress dark console menu that allows all
the editing options. I keep getting the light blue version, sometimes I
can navigate to the desired menu by using the top right ‘write’ button,
then the ‘dashboard’ option at bottom left. Sometimes the dashboard button
never appears and sometimes I can’t seem to get logged in after pressing
it; even after changing my login details (in case I noted them
incorrectly). The browser progress bar finishes, and it’s still at the login page and doesn’t log me in.

It’s a fundamental thing to need to do in making a site, and it just isn’t
    behaving consistently!

  • Have you tried:

    – deactivating all plugins to see if this resolves the problem. If this works, re-activate the plugins one by one until you find the problematic plugin(s).

    – switching to the default theme to rule out any theme-specific problems.

resetting the plugins folder by FTP or PhpMyAdmin. Sometimes, an apparently inactive plugin can still cause problems.

    – re-uploading all files & folders – except the wp-content folder and wp-config.php & root .htaccess files – from a fresh download of WordPress. Make sure that you delete the old copies of files & folder before uploading the new ones.
