• For a free product, I had no big expectations. But it was below average. Just after installing it, you have to do something about your static homepage, because the default one will disappear. Even following this https://polylang.pro/doc/is-it-possible-to-use-a-static-front-page/, it didn’t help, since the homepage url was redirecting to another page.

To be worst, it’s not compatible with Woocommerce, you have to add a module (paid, 99 Euro).

It’s not really simple as people can think, like “ok, it will give me an option to enter a second version of my posts in another language”. Its complex, it will mess with you URLs, etc. Just use it if you are really up to do a lot of work before everything is set and running.

  • I’ve installed and been using Polylang in our site for at least two years! It’s God-sent. The easier method to create and maintain a site in more than one languages. I can’t talk about its compatibility with WooCommerce, since I do not use WooCommerce, but if you follow the instructions, it is perfect. And if you are a little bit into coding, it allows you to “translate” plugins which are not even compatible with Polylang (up to a point).

@sv1cec: good to know you have a good experience. My first one was kind of lame. Anyway, I will give it a second try when I have more time to let my site offline and deal with the homepage issue, since the other main plugin with similar fucntion (WPML) is paid and I can’t (better saying, don’t want to) afford one more paid plugin.

By now, I’ll keep my review. Maybe I change my mind in future.

I have no relation to Polylang, so I have no interest in promoting them. But I am managing a tourist-related info site, which needs to provide info in three languages. I tried different plugins before deciding on Polylang. It works as expected every time, as long as you follow its instructions. Never had an issue with it.

I hope you re-evaluate your point of view, because (believe me) you will not find something better than that.
