 * I received as a OceanWP subscriber a (fake) email invite to test out their brand
new plugin. It turned out to be a spam/scam. Long story short : We were spoofed
by former employees of OceanWP. Your plugin is not even close to what OceanWP
   offers.
 * Since I don’t know how scammy it is, I will never ever use this in production.

It’s a breach of trust, not to say a violation.
 * **Shame on you**

 * Hello [@elcondorito](https://wordpress.org/support/users/elcondorito/), well,
as soon as users told us about this email, we directly send them a message and
on our Facebook group to say it wasn’t coming from us so if the email asking
for information or any personal data, to not click on it.
 * The questions are, who and why this email has been sent, so if you think a little
about it, you will realize yourself that it brings nothing to us except problems.
 * Now the issue is that OceanWP literally says that this email comes from us, which
is defamation, so maybe it was their end goal to send this email just to hurt
our reputation, and by putting one star to our plugin, you play their game.
 * Now, as someone sends this email and apparently, the OceanWP team doesn’t want
to know who, which is quite odd, we will begin a procedure against them and if
we find out they really sent it to hurt us, we will go further.
 * That being said, please, don’t believe what you read or heard and make your own
opinion, why we would send an email promoting our products to OceanWP users after
the story behind, most users understood that there was something weird behind
it but some users like you, unfortunately, believe we did it and it was probably
what they wanted from the start.
 * I left OceanWP for things like that, and I don’t want to be related to them anymore
but now, things happen suddenly since I’m gone, but until people like you will
believe them, they will continue on this way.

 * Bonjour Nicolas,
 * I will keep this discussion in English, but I happen to be French, just like
   you.
I have much respect for you (or rather your work as the founder of OceanWP,
which I use on a daily basis).
 * I don’t know both sides of the story, only yours, and quite frankly, it looks
complicated as it is. I felt sympathy for you at first. But they’re something
fishy here. It’s blatant you did it.
 * Who else would have any interest but you (/Alex), to send an email like this ?

You’ve been disparaging OceanWP on their own FB group, insulting and blocking
people , deleting comments, trying to rename the group itself so much so that
they had to create a new one. It’s just a more elaborated misconduct.
 * Your track prove clearly you were working on zeus in October (and even before):

 * You integrated the VanillaJS into it, while it was someone else’s work.
    Some
people leave good comments, claiming it’s better than OceanWP, while it’s a plain
copy (and less elaborated). So, after all this sh*t, I wanted to fight back too.
 * I feel sorry it ends up like this, but it seems like you’re shooting yourself
in the foot. At least it looks like airing dirty laundry.
 * C’est la vie. This story could be made into a film. Something like “the Social
Network”. It could have been a success story. Too bad.

 * You think we send the email, ok, please, tell me why we would have done it? To
have more users? Well try to send an email to people who don’t know your products
and you will see, only bad things can happen.
 * It is probably because many people will believe WE send it that they probably
did, they try to hurt our reputation in anyway they can, you can believe them,
I can do nothing about that, but if at some point we manage to know the truth,
you will probably regret your words.
The only thing I did was to take the FB
group, then after talking with Alex, I decided to pause it and after all this
mess, I decided to gave the FB back because I don’t want users to feel trap and
let them decide to stay with owp or leave.
 * Also, please tell me who we insulted? We never did that and will never do even
when some users attack us, we always respond to them nicely because there is
no point to be disrespectful to someone.
 * For Zeus and Olympus, yes I was working on them when I was still working on OceanWP
and what? I can’t do my own projects?
For VanillaJS, I improved it on many widgets,
check the menu and mailchimp widget for example. If some code or settings look
the same, well, that’s normal, I created owp and all addons 🤷‍♂️
 * And OlympusWP is not at all related to OceanWP and will never be, what you talking
about? For now, it is still very new so much less feature of course, but I work
on it and you will see that it will stay much faster and better in any way because
I will not repeat the same mistakes I did with OWP.
 * On a final note, they will probably do bad things again, this is what they do,
and you can still believe them, as I told you, when there will be people like
you who will always believe what they say, they will continue. We will try to
know the truth for the email, and we will defend ourselves if needed but we will
continue our work because this is what we love to do, not this silly drama they
   try to put us on.

 * Thanks a lot [@chosendaone](https://wordpress.org/support/users/chosendaone/),
don’t worry, I’ve planned great things for Zeus and OlympusWP, even if some people
try to hurt me, I will not give up 😉
