    Hi there

I have used WordPress previously on a different PC and had no problems.

This time however the install works fine but when I try to log into my admin section or access the home page my wordpress isn’t recognising my index.php file.

I receive a directory tree every time I type an address such as http://localhost/blog/. I have to manually type in index.php each time to see my site.

I am only using this on my localhost server at this stage and is only a test install. I have tried having a go at the .htaccess file as suggested in other posts but either I am doing something wrong or it doesnt work.

    I am using:
    Wordpress 2.03
    Apache 2.0.55
    PHP 4.3.10
    MySQL 4.0.18
    Windows XP Pro

  • This is NOT a WP question. It is about you not knowing how to set up your server. Sorry.
Hint: index.php should be a valid index file…
