Support » Plugin: Gravity Forms + Custom Post Types » Not creating new post

  • Resolved Martin

    Hey guys,

the only way of creating a new post is to add the “post title”.
In my case the user should enter name, email and add a date from a calendar.

Can I some how make the fist form “name” to be the title and adding it to my custom post type “name” instead of having to make two fields for name.

    Maybe I’m thinking it wrong!

    Hi Martin,

    Great question!

I’d probably go about it one of two ways:

    1. Use a Post Title field and make it your “Name” field by changing the label
    2. Utilize a plugin such as Gravity Forms Copy Cat which can copy the contents of the Name field into the Post Title field. After you verify that Copy Cat is working, you can set the visibility of the Post Title field to hidden.

    That did the trick!

    Another thing…

I’ve added a new custom post type and the fields to it in the ACF plugin.

Now when adding the post type to the special field in my form the fields doesn’t appear in the list. I’m searching for the fieldname added in ACF connected to the post type in the database and can’t find it either. But, they’re visible in acf.

    Can’t see why! =(

    Hi @speechless,

    Glad to hear it!

It might not show as an existing custom field until there is data using that field.

If that’s the case, you can enter it as a new custom field as long as the meta key matches what’s in ACF.

I’m going to go ahead and mark this topic as resolved since the original question was answered.
