    I’ve noticed a drop in revenue from adverts recently so took a look today. Adverts are still showing but in the backend when I look at Advanced Ads it shows

    An error occurred: Invalid response from AdSense.

    when I look at the AdSense earnings.

    Also, when I try to refresh the ads available from AdSense I get the following error:

    invalid response received while renewing access token for "pub-[redacted]"

    I’ve looked in AdSense itself and can’t see any issues with my account. The only thing I’ve changed recently was to add X-Frame-Options to stop clickjacking. Could this have an affect?

    Hi dpmcalister,

    Thanks for reaching out.

    The reason is something else. In January 2021, AdSense is going to change how sites connect to their account. Advanced Ads 1.23.0 contains the change already. However, some users lose the connection to the account after the update, so they cannot place new ads or load the ad stats. Ads are and will still deliver properly.

    ​Please go to Advanced Ads > Settings > AdSense, then disconnect and re-connect your account. If you experience further issues, then please clear your browser cache.

    That’s perfect, thanks. Of course, now I need to work out the reason for the dip in revenue but at least I know the connection is working. Thanks again.
