Support » Plugin: WP Dark Mode » Not bad, missing some CSS

It’s not bad, and I seriously considered the Pro version as it seemed to do everything I needed until I went to POSTS or PAGES, and instead of every-other row being in a slight different shade (which is an important UX) it was totally black.
I think that’s a major fail, I even double checked it wasn’t my monitors not picking up a dark shade, but my colour picker confirmed it’s all one colour.

So 4 stars, but I’ve uninstalled it as it’s a bad UX

    Hi @richardshea
Thanks for trying WP Dark Mode. It’s almost impossible it is to make a dark mode plugin work flawlessly just by one click of installation. There are millions of websites with hundreds of cases out there i.e. padding, margins, sections, layout, background, and all CSS properties and it’s literally impossible to cover them and make a dark mode plugin install and done type.

That’s why we have covered a wide range of features in our plugin i.e. Custom CSS, include/exclude, dark mode-based image support, etc. It’s possible to create a fully-fledge dark mode version of a website utilizing all those paid features of the plugin.

    Thanks for your understanding.

Thanks for your reply, but I was referring to a standard/empty installation of WordPress and the admin pages for showing all POSTS & PAGES being my issue.
So your reply is not applicable to that.

It failed on the very basic undertaking of showing the slight tint on alternative rows in the standard WordPress interface.

To be honest, I’d not really looked at how well it would work with the front-end, as I found the back-end not usable for me 🙁

But as you say for millions of front-end sites no doubt some custom CSS would be needed, but I’d not expect it required for standard WordPress back end which is usually universal.
