Support » Plugin: WP-Members Membership Plugin » Not Allowing Logins

The plugin has started declaring all login attempts by myself and other readers as failed – username/password incorrect – even when they are correct. My password and user name are stored on my computer and I can successfully login with them from the backend but that defeats the purpose of having the plugin.

Has anyone else seen these or have any suggestions to try.

I have been using this plugin successfully since my sites inception and it is not clear why it has started acting up although it has appeared since the last update.

    Thank you

Go to the section – WP-Members FAQs – link below and scroll to he bottom and read

‘Use passwords are invalid? What is wrong?’

    http://rocketgeek.com/plugins/wp-members/users-guide/faqs/

I did the following and now the plugin appears to be working on my site. I am hoping is will be a permanent fix but it is too soon to tell.

    1. In your dashboard go to ‘Settings>General’ and make sure ‘Anyone can register is UNCHECKED.

    2. In the WP-Members Options, I UNCHECKED the ‘Hide Registration’ box.

    3. I read on line that sometimes caching pages for plugins that force login to the front end like WP-Members does can cause a problem.

I use WP Super Cache so in †he WP-Super Cach Settings>Advanced settings I added the strings for the WP-Member pages that force those pages not to be cached,ex. /register/, /members-area/, /sign-in/

    4. If you are using something other than the recaptcha that is suggested in the WP-member settings, you may have to deactivate †hat plugin as it may cause a conflict.

I did those 4 things and now I can login via the WP-Members login. Like I said, it is too soon to tell if it permanently fixes the problem.

One other thing – I also installed Disable XML-RPC last night when I was making the above changes and I do not know if that had anything to do with the fix.

Note, I know squat about coding an am not associated with the plugin in any way, so I do not know if what worked for me will work for anyone else.

    Firstly, thank you very much.
Secondly, i have done all your options and now it is working good but i want to see some days because i have clients which informed me for this error.
General do you know if there is plugin which i pay and i have FULL support?
    Because this is tragic.
    thank you again

The last update to wp 4.o.1 was a security fixand I am wondering if whatever security hole that they plugged is causing some kind of conflict with the WP-Members plugin for login.

i am serious that this is the problem.
Because when i update the wordpress then appear the problem.
But somebody must to tell to Chad developer to fix it.

@grigoris – do you ever bother to check your email? I responded to your support ticket.

could you please to ask you something final?
How appeared the wp-members plugin in dashboard?
    Inside settings?
    or just memberships?

When I first started the site, I bought Profile Builder since it forced login to the front end. The plugin it self sucked and the developer was useless. He happily took my money and didn’t provide any support and he was nasty on top of it.

I have been very happy with WP-Member and this is the first time in 3 years I have had a problem.
