# Not allowing comments

 * I’ve had something rather odd happen recently. I like to allow comments within
   my glossary. Unfortunately, any post I edit or create doesn’t allow someone to
   comment on. However, several items do.
 * What am I missing? I don’t see the typical box for allow discussion or not.

 * When I edit the field called “comment_status” and change the value to “open”,
   that particular glossary post is then able to support a discussion.
 * The problem is, that I don’t have the option to set this by default. Even better,
   I would prefer to set it per post. I’ve been digging around the code unsuccessfully
   thus far.

 * You could add comment support via add_post_type_support()
