When trying to access the drag-and-drop editor for a custom taxonomy I am getting the “Sorry, you are not allowed to access this page” error.

    (Example URL)
    http://examplesite.com/wp-admin/edit.php?post_type=services&page=to-interface-services

I have tried setting permissions as low as possible, turning-off and turning the plugin back on, flipping settings, etc.

This works locally, but not on our staging server.
For context, we are using MAMP (Apache) locally and NGNIX on the staging server.

Have not had this issue with any other plugins on the many sites we use.

    Any info would be helpful.

There must be something wrong with the role permissions on your staging, the plugin rely on capabilities, so the user you run does not have a particular capability. I suggest to reset the roles and capabilities to default.
