I have used this plugin for years with no issues.

I have an active site with WP 4.9.9 and I want to migrate it to my local MAMP server. I create a fresh WP install (manually or using MAMP’s feature – doesn’t matter), and only the default posts are there after the migration.

It might be due to the PHP environment missing something that your website needs. When you export, exclude mu-plugins and try again.

There are no multi user plugins in this site.

I used the plain old wordpress export as xml and that worked.

Funny, before the last update to AIO, it worked fine as far as I know. This is how I do things all the time. I make an export using AIO and then apply it to my working copy on my local computer.

PHP is 7.2.10 on the local machine. Site is atm running php 7.0

I hope these details might hep figure this out.

Usually, when this happens it is because of different PHP environment – are both sites running the same PHP version with the same modules? If not, install the same PHP version and/or add missing modules.

I have figured it out. It was not the PHP versions or modules, it was that MAMP had updated the MySQL engine and the DBs needed to be updated. I got a clues when Navicat could not access the DBs either with a schema error.

Funny that Sequel Pro had no problems accessing but did not trap any errors. Be advised that Navicat has better error trapping but of course costs significant money.

This is a great plugin that I STILL rely on. I never lost faith in it, I just was stumped as to why it was acting in this strange manner.

I appreciate your assistance, even though it turned out to be something else.

Be advised MAMP users that the DB engine has changed and so there are some conversions needed for existing DBs.

My sincere apologies for any troubles.
