admin – Appearance – Add new
that link isn’t in the left sidebar of the dashboard?
nope. I see the Appearance but Add New isn’t there. I switched form .com to org twice already and it still isn’t working. Am I missing something?
does the Appearance menu expand where you see “Editor” “Themes” “Widgets”etc.?
if not, is java script enabled in your browser?
it expands, I just don’t see the “add new theme” button. It’s frustrating as heck! I’ve tried everything (well at least i think I have). Java is enabled. i don’t see Editor, or themes but i see “Widgets, Extra, CSS edit…”
are you at wordpress.com?
yeah but I downloaded .org and exported then imported from .com, is that the wrong way to do it?
no that’s correct way to do it, but the way you list the Appearance links is like at wordpress.com where you can’t add themes and can edit css and stuff
so I’m not sure now what’s going on
hmm…ive suspected that I’m doing something wrong. I still go to wordpress.com to login right? I always felt like Im missing something…
if you set up a self-hosted site, you would just add wp-login.php
to your url – like
http://example.com/wp-login.php
i figured it out. It was actually a domain pointing issue. The 3rd person i talked to helped me. but I appreciate your help too. I can use that to login to my admin from anywhere right?
