Not able to upload some image files with catablog

Hi there, we are experiencing an issue around uploading JPG, GIF and PNG images through the catablog plugin when saved out of Photoshop.

When we save product images (400px X 400px) in Photoshop (save for web JPG, GIF and PNG images) OR download small web-sized images from our providers, we get a 503 Service Unavailable error and we can not upload these images.

The strangest thing though is if we take a screen grab of these images, we can upload these fine.

What could be causing this? In 10 years as a web developer I’ve never seen this. Are you please able to advise if you have encountered this issue before and how we could possibly resolve it?

Hi, I tested uploading one png file and it worked for me. Can you try uploading an image created with another software other than Photoshop?

Yes, I can upload other images but some I can’t. As explained when creating images from Photoshop (JPG, GIF, PNG) I cant.

I tested the bicycle image and I was able to upload the image using Google Chrome browser.

Have you ever come across this before?
I can upload image fine to Media library but not through this website’s Catablog plugin

I just carried out a test doing exactly what you showed in the video. I was able to replace the image with a different image. You might need to speak to your host about this issue. It looks to be server related.

You might also like to check your server log files. The log files might share an explanation about this issue.

The problem here looks to be your server. 503 Service Unavailable is usually caused by lack of available server resources, meaning not enough memory is available. Are you using a shared hosting provider? or do you have a VPS?
