    Hi there,

I’d like to set my “Home” page as a static front page, however, under “Settings” –> “Reading”, the option for setting this is missing. The page starts with “Blog pages show at most…”. I have deactivated all plugins, I went back to the Twenty Fifteen theme – nothing helped. I have created a few pages already so the lack of pages cannot be the reason either. Does anyone have an idea what the reason could be and how to fix it? Thanks a lot.

Make sure that the page is a page (not a post) and that it’s published (not private or draft).

The option will not appear if you do not have at least one publicly published page.

I currently have 7 published pages and 1 published post. Any other ideas? I also have some in the trash, drafts and a few private pages. But that should not matter, as long as I have at least a few published pages, right?

    Correct, that shouldn’t matter.

Is this part of a Multisite Network, or a single site installation?

Are you currently logged in as an Administrator, or a lower user role?

I am logged in as an administrator and it is a single site installation.

Ok, try deactivating all plugins. If that resolves the issue, reactivate each one individually until you find the cause.

If that does not resolve the issue, try switching to the Twenty Sixteen theme to rule-out a theme-specific issue (theme functions can interfere like plugins).

I have already done both – about an hour ago. I am going to try again…

Do you use any static caching plugins? Could it be that you need to flush cache?
Could you provide the link to your website?

It actually ended up being the theme that prevented me from accessing the settings for the front page. I was able to figure it out. Thanks so much for your help.
