Not able to save complete Twitter URL

    Hi, I’ve installed the latests version of the plugin and when I am updating a user’s profile, specifically their Twitter URL I only see “Twitter @username” and if this field is filled with a complete URL (e.g. http://twitter.com/mobilejazzcat) it gets stripped to show only @mobilejazzcat but then in the link it shows as “{currenturl}/@mobilejazzcat” ending in a 404 error after clicking on the link.

    I have edited the plugin to unset [‘twitter’] from the contact settings from each user but also had to change the priority in the filter hook since it wasn’t been applied.

    Any chance this could be included as a bug fix?

    Hi, the solution its disable the Next Gen Facebook Open Graph plugin (NGFB) from your plugin list.(Or some external plugin displayed in “Contact Methods”tab)

    Now you can paste the complete Twitter URL in contact methods, and the plugin works perfectly.

    NGFB and other SEO plugins often use the ‘twitter’ contact method as a Twitter username field (with or without the @). In the NFGB Advanced settings you can change the ‘twitter’ field name to something else (like ‘twitter_user’ maybe), so this would allow you to have both kinds of Twitter fields — one for usernames, and one for URLs.
