Support » Plugin: WPtouch » Not Able to Edit Theme Footer

  • Hi,
I’m a developer that has created many websites (This is my current website: mycooldrivingschool.com) with your plugin integrated. Some of them with the Pro Version. This website that I’m working on is not Pro version. I added the plugin to the site and have had it installed for years. I have code in the footer of the Customized area. When I went to edit the code that was in there the customizer is not showing any of the WPTouch Mobile customize settings anymore. These are the troubleshooting steps I have taken without any luck:

    Deactivate all other plugins
Changed main theme to “Twenty Seventeen”
Re-installed the WordPress Core files to version 4.7
Installed previous versions of the plugin: 4.3.8, and 4.3.7

Nothing has helped. I have had the most current wordpress version, with the most current WPTouch Mobile version, and all other plugins deactivated but the customizer is still not working for me. It only shows settings for the desktop version. If I click on “Switch to mobile theme” it acts like it’s updating the page but when the page refreshes it is still only the desktop theme. Any help?

  • Hi,

Sorry to hear about the trouble you’re having. Thank you for going through the troubleshooting steps. Unfortunately, I couldn’t say for sure what is causing the issue without taking a closer look at the setup. Are any of the other WPtouch/Pro powered sites hosted on the same server? Are there any cache plugins or a server-side caching system active on the server? If so, see if clearing their cache makes a difference.

I have WP Super Cache, the site is hosted on godaddy. I have cleared the cache.

Also, there are no other sites on the same host

Is there anything else I can try? I think I’m going to have to start looking for a different plugin to use as my client is putting pressure on me to get this resolved.

    Hi Stacey,

I couldn’t say for sure what may be causing the issue, especially after deactivating all other plugins and activating a default desktop theme.

If you would like, you can send temporary WordPress login credentials to credentials[at]wptouch.com (reference this post) and I’ll be happy to take a closer look for you.
