Hi – I have BackWpUp installed on my website, which I use for daily database backups and weekly full site backups. I have set the max no. of backups after which the older ones get automatically deleted, as they should be. Earlier, I was able to delete the backups manually as well from my admin account. Today, I tried to delete the backups manually by going to BackWpUp –> Backups –> Delete from my WordPress Super Admin Acccount, but instead of deleting the backup, it gave me the following message on a new screen:

    Access to http://www.[mysitename].com was denied
You don’t have authorization to view this page.
    HTTP ERROR 403

Now, I don’t know why I am getting this message as I am the only admin account on my website, I tried deleting different backups, but got same error message again. I cross-checked my role capabilities and privileges and confirmed that I have all authorities relating to Backwpup including “deleting Backups”. I even deactivated and uninstalled BackWpUp plugin, reinstalled and activated it, created new backups, and tried deleting them again, but the same error message came up again and again. Also, when I try to download Backups from the Backups page, I get a popup blank screen with a message “please wait….”, but the backup download is also not happening at all, the please wait message keeps showing indefinitely in the popup until I close it down.

I am able to do everything from changing settings to creating new backupjobs to running backups and activate/deactivate/install/delete plugins, but not able to delete Backwpup backups or download backups from the backup page of Backwpup through my admin account.

Not sure what exactly has gone wrong here, but I am hoping that you will be able to guide me on what settings I should recheck or what steps should I take to resolve this.

Thanks a lot for your help and support in advance. Hoping for an early reply,

    Best,
    Ambuj

Hi – An update – the above issue seems to be due to a conflict with BBQ firewall plugin. If BBQ is deactivated, the manual download/delete works normally again. Please let me know if you have some suggestions to resolve this conflict without disabling either one.

    Thanks,

Hi again – I have received the below response from the BBQ plugin author, and need your help to figure out the corresponding URL of Backwpup plugin getting blocked:

BBQ Plugin Author Response – “Yeah whenever a URL is blocked, it means that it contains some character or string that is blocked in the BBQ firewall. In order to resolve the issue, we need the actual URL which is blocked. The best way to get that information is to examine the code directly (via Chrome Inspector for example). If that is not possible, hopefully the plugin developers will know. Once you know the involved URL that was blocked (when you try to delete or whatever), then let me know. I should then be able to provide a solution for you.”

Request you to help identify the relevant URL, so that I can resolve it with BBQ.

    Thanks,

    Hi @ambujgarg
Really great to hear that you have found the root issue 😀
You can get the URL when hover mouse on Delete | Download ( BWP -> Backups -> hover on any backup file ) -> press right button then press copy to copy the URL.
After that, forward this URL to BBQ author 🙂

Hope that help you and I looking to hear the new update from you 🙂
