    Did not work for me too. Everything worked great before the recent update.

    Not solved with deactivation and reactivation.And after deactivation and reactivation i get this error :
    “you do not have sufficient permissions to access this page”
    How can i fix it ?

    I second this.

    Plus, clicking ‘manage’ says that I do not have permission to access the site; I have full admin rights. This should not be occuring.

    I’m a little confused here. I’m using WP 3.8 and this plugin seems perfect for my needs, but I’m getting the behavior described by others, which is not terribly user-friendly for my client. Is there an older version that I should download that does not have this issue?

    For the record, this was a fresh install of WordPress 3.8, and first-time installation of this plugin.

    After last update, we are having the same issue as described by others.

    issue is related to a change in download-manager.php at line 480

    if($_POST){ //old line 4.5.9
    if(isset($_POST)){ //new line 4.5.91

    plugin works again using the first line. Sorry for my bad english

    Confirmed that cesareino’s fix seems to work. In case you guys are editing in WP and don’t see the code line #’s, just know that it’s the one in the function wpdm_settings(){ function, not the other one.

    the same problem for me and i’ve fix the code at line 480!!

    INSERT INTOahm_files(show_counter,quota,category) VALUES (‘0′,’0′,’N;’)

    since upgrading to 2.5.91 with 3.8, I am getting this same problem ( never happened before):
    “you do not have sufficient permissions to access this page”
    Worked perfectly before upgrading.
    Checked code in download-manager.php : looks correct as indicated by cesareino.
    Anybody any ideas ?
    Deactivating and reactivating the plugin seems to have solved the problem for now

    Unfortunatly it keeps coming back all the time, I have to deactivate and reactivate on a regular basis to have access to settings or download file list !
    I am the administrator of the site, so I have all the correct rights

    Hi there Shoan.

    I am having the same problem as all others have described above. We have the most up to date version of WordPress and Download Manager but I am getting the ‘created!’ and the ‘you do not have sufficient permissions to access this page’ text coming up. Also, all the permissions for the files in download manager have now changed to ‘guest’. I am the main admin person for this site but there are other admins who have permission to access download and they are all getting the same messages – the content for our site is constantly being updated so we have to be able to add new files.

    I have no experience changing php so can’t do that and deactivating and reactivating the plugin seems hit and miss (or is that worth trying?)

    Shoan, please, please could you let me know if there is going to be a fix for this plugin as it is so good. Do you know if Download Manager Pro works with the latest version of WordPress? If so, I will download that. If Manager pro does work and I install it, will all my files in the site stay as they are and continue to work or will they have to be uploaded again?

    I am in the same situation:
    – WP: 3.8
    – Download Manager: 2.5.91
    And this permission problem is new since updating to both latest versions.
    Everything worked fine with WP 3.7.1 and DM 2.5.9
    All I can say if you deactivate the plugin and reactivate it right away the problem goes away and you can access everything again but it doesn’t last more than once or twice.
    I really hope that developer is reading this post and will fix the problem quickly.
    Another problem has appeared short does’t work quite as before .
