# nonfunctioning save/publish function

 * currently i am unable to edit old posts or publish new ones. when i hit the save
   or publish button i get a pure white screen and my browser tells me that the 
   page is done loading.
 * i’ve tried with firefox and safari on mac os 10.4
 * if any one can help me out with this i’d be very grateful – i’ve been trying 
   for a few days now…

 * i’ve noticed a number of people reporting the same issue over the last 3 days
   but no one has been able to help. is this a common problem the experts are bored
   of helping with or is it so unusual that nobody knows what to do?
 * i’ve noticed one or two posters have mentioned that an upgrade has not helped…
   so i’m not going to try that. it also seems that various people with the problem
   are using various versions of wordpress, so i doubt its a version issue either.
 * somebody put us all out of our misery…. pleeeease! 😉

 * Sounds like you have upgraded wp recently and probably have missing files or 
   the upgrade didnt go to plan – you have to ensure all is installed ok.

 * thanks for the response. i haven’t updated wp at all since first install… i’m
   still on 2.1.2. maybe i should do a full install of a more recent version?
