My website went down and I was told I had to install the latest version of wordpress, or as godaddy said “patch” , so I did waht they told me to do and they didn’t even want to help me. They said “go to wordpress.org” and get help that way.

OK, so I install the patch and I was told that it would work after that. So my homepage loads

    http://www.mommymandy.com

but if you click on any page it gives you an error page “page you tried to access does not exist on this server”

Godaddy said it has to do with wordpress. So my question is waht the heck happened and what do I do to fix the problem? THANKS!

  • It seems that possibly your content folder was deleted or moved or something so your site doesn’t load it anymore.

Did you make a backup of your database before you did the update? If so you can restore your site to the way it was before.

this could be something to do with your .htaccess file. check your settings in your wp-admin under settings > permalinks and ensure it is setup as before.

also ensure your .htaccess file exists. it should be in the root of wordpress.

    dave.

Woah there. wp-content looks like it’s still there.

I think it’s more likely to be an .htaccess or a Permalink issue.

What does your .htaccess file contain (in the root directory)? And what are your Permalink settings currently? (on the Settings > Permalinks page)

(edit: beaten to it I see!)

Glade you could get it working! I’m glade that I was wrong too haha, but I learned something here too, I mean I’ve had the same problem in the past but someone else fixed it for me :P.
