Support » Fixing WordPress » non wp subdirectory throws 404 with permalinks

  • We have wordpress installed at root, however, we have a subdirectory that is not wordpress /directory that we must be able to access. When we add permalinks (pstname) it makes the non wordpress subdirectory throw a 404 error. I have searched these forums high and low tried all the options suggested but none of them have worked. Though I see many ask this question – the solutions do not seem to be provided. I request some assistance with this issue.

  • Thank you for the link I had already reviewed that. The issues in the previous post refer to issues with the wordpress permalink not working – permalinks work just fine when I turn them on that is not the problem. It is just that non-wordpress directories throw a 404 error. How do you essentially exclude non-wordpress directories from the rewrite rules.

This is a WordPress site insalled at root with a subdirectory that is not wordpress that throws the 404
