I want to build a standard wordpress site and host it on the root domain.
I also want to add several hundred location pages, which will have features that I cannot build in wordpress.
I would hope to build these as pure PHP pages linked to a separate MySql DB.
So my URL structure might be
– all of the above built in WP
– the following pages will be pure PHP
Any major issues in implementing such a setup.
My main concern is that I do not ruin the SEO potential of the main site while attracting geo targeted traffic on the individual location pages.
I am assuming I will need to generate a custom sitemap.xml that includes all relevant pages.
Any suggestions or warnings welcome.
