  • Nowadays it is absolutely essential that online checkouts do not require unnecessary personal and financial details of customers, or charge unfairly.

I tried to pay by PayPal. You are charging your PayPal fees to the customer (very unfair) and even with the PayPal option selected, your checkout is still asking for all customer details and card details. This is wrong.

You are also adding arbitrary tax (the tax is the same whatever country is selected).

For those who want Pro, please be careful with your details.

I don’t charge unfairly, and I don’t ask for unnecessary personal details. However, the checkout process (which is PayPal or Stripe), might. This is not part of the process and I cannot change it.

I do not like PayPal. Since some of my customers forced me to use it, I kept it as an option. Indeed, I charge an extra because I don’t like the way they do business.

Personally, I much refer not to ask anything (and I don’t, except the email) and keep a smooth, fair process. But I am a plugin developer, I am not working on those financial platforms. Unfortunately, I don’t have the choice.

No, I don’t. I think you refer to your previous message, about the PayPal fees. In that case, yes, I do charge PayPal fees. I don’t charge fees if you use Stripe or Bitcoins.

If there is a better way, let me know. I really don’t need your personal details and prefer to keep it simple.

I am also not sure why you are reviewing the free version of the plugin here, as in fact, you are reviewing the PayPal checkout process, which I obviously do not recommend either.
