• Hi

    Great plugin.

We would like to know if it’s possible to add an option to set noindex to the feed-to-post output on our site, on each post?

We have permission to republish, but they have asked us to add noindex to our republished posts, so the original post features in Google. At the moment, our site is beating theirs in SEO. It is not our intention to do so.

    Thanks

    Hello,
Interesting questions as typically the noindex is in the meta tag, which is outside the domain of the plugin. Would setting the links to nofollow work?

Ah, I figured it might be the case. No, nofollow on the links wouldn’t be enough.

I’ve put a question out on Yoast’s SEO plugin forum to see whether posts in a particular category could have noindex added- that way, your plugin’s posts could be placed in a particular category and then that plugin could complete the task.

I think it is important that rss-multi-importer has at least some workaround or advice to offer because Google can punish mere mirroring sites in search rankings – and yet there are of course legitimate reasons why a site republishes posts from other sites.

    Thanks for prompt reply
