nofollow links

Hello,

I was just curious as to why the social links default to “nofollow” links on wordpress? I would imagine it would be good for google to follow my social links and see my pages. I may change it myself, but was curious about the best way to do this or if there was an option. I don’t see an option.. I may have to manually do it. But I don’t want to break anything.
