  • Hello!

I dont have full access to my own website, my username is set to only to edit pages by my website creator. I need admin mode.

I tried to login through CP panel via PHPmyAdmin, but there is no wp_users table.
There is wp_options table. If I change email in this table with my, can I log in with that email or that doesnt mean nothing in this case?

Also, I should say that I log in through PHP creating a new user, do not have access to original user created by site creator, maybe that is the reason why is there no wp_users when I log in with new user name. I can reset password easily for the original user name but I want to be sure that I need to do that so I can access required table.

Can you login to the site at all? If there’s no wp_users table, that should not be possible.

Yes, I can log in to the site with my user name which is limited to editing.
Creator can also log in as admin. No problems at all.

So I logged in into CP panel, went to databases, as there is already one user name present, for which I dont know the password (but i can reset it), I choose to create new user, and when I access it, there is no wp_users.

If you can login, then there must be a wp_users table. Please show a screen shot of the list of tables in your WP database. (Put the screen shot on imgur.com and paste that link here.)

Steve, Im very sorry, I have just realised that there was PAGE 2 with tabels, when I went for screenshot, so YES, you are right, there is a wp_users table. 🙂

In which way can I change my user to Admin status?

Change the password on the existing admin user (see link), then login as that user. change your “regular” account to an administrator, log out, and log back in as yourself.

I didnt do anything yet, just to be sure completely.

Now when I am in wp_users table, for example:

I clicked on my username, and in the user_pass field, I see letters very different than my password really is. So the user_pass entries, are not passwords?

Read the link on how to change a password via PHPMYADMIN.
