Support » Plugin: MailChimp List Subscribe Form » No way to set list in developer mode

  • There is currently no way to set the current list in developer mode. My WP is installed in localhost so I added

    define('MAILCHIMP_DEV_MODE', true);

    to wp-config.php. I then go to Settings – MailChimp Setup in admin and it tells me ‘Developer mode is active.’ and provides options for ‘Custom Styling’ and ‘CSS Cheat Sheet’ but no list select.

    I had a read through the code and it seems in the function mailchimpSF_change_list_if_necessary() it’s bugging out here

    $api = mailchimpSF_get_api();
    if (!$api) { return; }

    The mailchimpSF_get_api() function is checking for get_option(‘mc_sopresto_public_key’) and get_option(‘mc_sopresto_secret_key’) but these values are never asked for or set.

    MailChimp Support Rep

    Hi Flynsarmy,

    Thanks for hopping in the forum. To explain a little, the developer mode is just for designing the css of the form while in a local development environment without internet access. It isn’t expected to be connected to your MailChimp account or your lists. If you would like to test out your list, it’s best to use the regular mode.

    You might want to check out this page, it has some details on using the developer mode:
