• Hi!
When I create a new post in the right side bar in the publish there is a place to set the archive date.

However when I go to edit it after leaving this screen I cannot find the place to edit the future archive date.

Maybe this is due to the fact that this version of the LH Archived Post Status plugin (2.20) has not be tested with the version of WP (5.1) that I am running. It has only been test up to WP version 4.9.9.

Any help you can give me in locating the place to set the future archive date after the original save would be appreciated!

    Frederick
PS I would have included screenshots but this forum does not seem to have a way to add them.

Yes this plugin does not work properly with 5.0 and up. Essentially Gutenberg actually removed a key api that this plugin relies on. There is an open ticket about fixing this but until this is actioned you best option is to use the classic editor or deactivate my plugin.

Sorry I’m as angry about the situation as you (note I’ll add something to the faq to explain this)

Our site is now running 5.1.1 which also has the new Gutenberg editor. It seems I can disable the Gutenberg editor by installing the “Classic Editor” plugin. Now I see the Archive field again when I edit a published post. Is that a good workaround?

That should work and a similar approach works for me.

As i have said until this issue:

    https://github.com/WordPress/gutenberg/issues/3144

is fixed then this will remain a problem when you use gutenberg

    Ok, thanks for confirming.

@shawfactor not angry, just a bit confused at first. In any case I have used the workaround suggested above by @davidwwatts and all is well. This site is very low traffic so having the new editor is not a priority, having events expire and disappear after they happen is.

@frederickjh What is there to be confused about?

As I stated Gutenberg has broken a key piece of functionality this plugin relies upon. This is detailed in the Gutenberg bug tracker here.

    https://github.com/WordPress/gutenberg/issues/3144

And it effects more than just my plugin.

To be clear my plugin did not do this Gutenberg did. Until this bug (created by Gutenberg) is fixed then the plugin will not wrk in WordPress 5.0 + without rolling back the editor to classic.

Note it is for this reason that I have kept the tested up too on the plugin to 4.9

I am angry about it, but what can you do…

I am keeping this thread open as it wil not be resolved until Gutenberg is fixed
