I’m using the free version on various sites. I’ve not checked all of them, but on one I’m testing, the user email is not showing in the email headers as FROM:, and replying to the form email leaves the TO: field blank.

Is this a crippled feature in the free version or is there something wrong with my config? I made the cust email field required…

    Form at:

Everything is at the latest versions.

  • I had the same problem, and here’s how I fixed it.

At the top of your form click on the Settings button to reveal the 4 sections (General, Email, Confirmation, and Notification). In the Email section you can set the user’s name and email — but you must first make those 2 fields required. (Each will show a red star if so.)

VFB doesn’t by default include a Name field in the list of available fields, so make sure you have created a Text field and designated it as Name or whatever you want to show up in the From email you receive when the form is submitted.

I’ve found that not having a Name field pop in, only the Email field, causes VFB to put “WA” as the name when I hit reply to the form I receive.

    Hope this helps!

Sorry, I just noticed you did say you have Email as a required field. I think that’s the default anyway. Have you checked that the correct field is selected in the drop-down menu in the Email section?

Thanks SO much! I was misinterpreting the function of some of those fields in the email section but with your clue I was able to see the error of my ways.
