    I do not have any social profiles set in Yoast SEO, yet I’m seeing my twitter handle in the source code. Where is this coming from? I’d like it turned off since I’m using the SumoMe sharebar and it takes up characters in the tweet (which is set in Yoast SEO : Twitter Title for that page).

    From my source html:

    <!– This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v3.7.0 – ttps://yoast.com/wordpress/plugins/seo/ –>

    —SNIP—

    <meta name=”twitter:creator” content=”@mytwitterhandle” />
    <!– / Yoast SEO plugin. –>

    Thanks,
    Dave

    The twitter:creator meta uses the Twitter handle from the author’s profile. Meta tags do not impact the number of characters when sharing the URL. Does your twitter handle appear when you share directly on Twitter?

    Click the Twitter share button. Our handle is appended to the end of the tweet. I don’t know where it’s coming from.

    The URL you provided does not include the Twitter handle when sharing directly as you can check using the Twitter card validator.

    The output of the share button sends the Twitter handle along with the URL. Please contact the developer or support team for your sharing plugin.
