• Hello,

I can translate all strings when I rename default.po to Croatian language, hr.po, except “Page not found” which shows in:

    <title>Page not found
    and
    <meta property=”og:title” content=”Page not found

no such string in the file, but translation exist somewhere because for German language it returns:
    <title>Seite nicht gefunden
    <meta property=”og:title” content=”Seite nicht gefunden

    I am using Polylang.

    Any clue why and where?

  • Hmm, The theme doesn’t have a “page not found” string. I believe this is in wordpress itself. I think the easiest thing would be to use the Yaost SEO plugin and edit the meta for 404 pages.

    Well done.
For others who might be asking the same:
It is located under “Yoast WordPress SEO: Titles & Metas” TAB: Other
section “Special Pages” “404 pages Title template:”

When you write title in, it becomes available for translation through Polylang strings section:
Settings / Languages TAB “Strings translation”

    Thanks for the hint.
