No thumbnails in compact album view after upgrade

Hi,

I had to move my website to a different server (old copy still exists) and by doing so I upgraded wordpress and nextgen gallery (from 1.7.4 to 2.1.0).

I have a page as entry point to the images containing tags like
[album id=15 template=compact]. On this page the albums thumbnails were not displayed (see http://mv-tuningen.de.w01352ce.kasserver.com/bilder/). The generated thumbnail urls are
<img class="Thumb" alt="Funkenfeuer" src="http://mv-tuningen.de.w01352ce.kasserver.com/nextgen-image/1431/91x68/crop/0d79af8bf11bcfe51688730ba6628228">

On the old (working page – http://mv-tuningen.de/bilder/) the urls look like

<img class="Thumb" alt="Funkenfeuer" src="http://mv-tuningen.de/wp-content/gallery/funkenfeuer/thumbs/thumbs_img_9646-medium.jpg">

which represents the real path of the images. What’s wrong?

@acetheface – Have you tried the Reset Option under Gallery > Other Options … then clear the image cache under Gallery > Other Options > Miscellaneous?

Just tried both. Error still exists.

Are the image URLs correct in your opinion?

I think this is the same issue covered in https://wordpress.org/support/topic/thumbnails-of-galleries-on-album-pages-not-working-rest-are-okay.

What’s the status of the mentioned bug report? The example page from the other request seems still to be broken. 🙁

And another duplicate issue without solution: https://wordpress.org/support/topic/nextgen-2011-doesnt-display-thumbnail-in-album-view.

This seems to be a heavy bug?

@acetheface – We are still looking into the issues where the gallery preview image does not appear in the album display. Please send us a Bug Report (http://nextgen-gallery.com/report-bug/ … please reference this topic) so we can get a better look under the page at your site.

We may need log in (and FTP) credentials for your WordPress installation, please include those with your Bug Report, too.

@steurtje: I switched toNextCellent Gallery which provides legacy compatibility from version 1.9.13. Works like a charm!

I had this problem on my website after upgrade now. It fixed itself after I returned permalinks to “normal” and then back to “post name” as it were before.
