Hi @johnmcfadyen
No, thumbnails should exist in media pages. Can you check in azure storage browser and see if thumbnails exist along with original image? Do you have registered custom image sizes or using default one? If you have custom image sizes, can you give us the size details so that we can check?
Regards,
Ritesh
We are experiencing the same issue. The full size image is there, but the thumbnails (default sizes) exist but have a filesize of 0 in the Azure storage browser, thus won’t show.
This site is created via the Project Nami Azure tool.
Hi @ceethru
Is thumbnail loading fine if you disable Azure Storage plugin? Also check once by regenerating thumbnails.

Ritesh
OK I did some more tests.
Disabled the Azure Storage plugin. Full size and automatic thumbnails generate correctly on the local storage.
Enabled the Azure Storage plugin with the “Keep local files” option enabled. Full size and automatic thumbnails generate correctly on the local storage but only the full size shows up on the Azure blob storage, the thumbnail files are also on Azure storage but with a size of zero.
It looks like the problem is when the local thumbnail versions are being copied to the blob storage. Any recommendations on what to try next? Many thanks.
Hi @ceethru
I am not seeing any bug in plugin code regarding this issue.
Are you seeing any error in server error log related to this issue? Can you tell me the local file path and azure storage path for image file and can also provide that image for us to testing with? I also suggest you to check it once with all plugins disabled (except Azure Storage) and with WordPress default theme to determine whether it’s a plugin issue or some other plugin conflict or theme related issue.

Ritesh
Well I spun up a clean site using Project Nami with default theme and no other plugins other than the storage one. I created a new Azure storage account and container (can’t remember the settings I had last time) but this time I picked General Purpose (instead of Blob storage) and it is now working. Is there a requirement for storage account/container types for the plug in to work or should it work with any?
I’ll try some more testing by adding each plug in one at a time to see what happens. I’ll update when the tests are complete.
Thank you
No there isn’t any requirement for storage container type. We have tested it with Blob Storage and is working fine. Keep us posted if you find any plugin/theme conflict.

Ritesh
