• In the last day (about 5 days after 2.1 update) I’ve been having more buggy behavior on my blog. Any changes I made in theme or options didn’t show up on the blog even if it did in the admin panel. Now my theme is completely gone followed by this error:

WordPress database error: [You have an error in your SQL syntax; check the manual that corresponds to your MySQL server version for the right syntax to use near ” at line 1]
    SELECT cat_id, cat_name FROM

    Any clues? Anyone?

  • First, deactivate all of your plugins. That will get rid of the error at the top of your page. Reactivate them one by one testing in between.

The second (sql syntax error)has to do with your theme not being updated for 2.1. cat_id and cat_name have been deprecated for 2.1. You can check with your theme’s author for an update or do it yourself using category_id and category_name.

Thanks. I had to replace my theme with one more current and 2.1 compliant.
