Support » Plugin: Duplicator - WordPress Migration & Backup Plugin » No text for posts in Post Editor after duplication

I’m in the process of upgrading a site to the current version of WP. So I ran Duplicator to create a local site to work out the kinks of the upgrade. Everything seemed to work fine on the local site save that in the Post Editor no text is displayed. The posts display correctly but cannot be seen to be edited. The word count displays zero so the editor doesn’t think anything is there.

I can see all of the posts in the database and don’t see anything different between the rows that can be seen and those that can’t. The text for new posts is visible.

I have tried upgrading to the latest version of Duplicator, disabling all plugins and changing themes without success. I have also tried using an existing database and creating a new one. Editing works on the source site that I duplicated.

I don’t know if this is a Duplicator or WordPress problem but thought I would ask here first.

  • That is a bit strange… If you can’t find any related clues in the FAQs, then I’m not 100% sure what to say…

To be honest I would have to look at your setup and maybe try and debug the issue. At this point it very hard to tell what is going on. If you want to submit a support ticket I could have a look at your wp-admin…

    Cheers~

Thanks for the reply but I had messed up a WordPress setting and had a character set mismatch. I changed wp-config.php and everything worked as advertised. Thanks again.

    Excellent! Thxs for the update…
