I'm having trouble with the easy digital downloads plugin. We aren't getting our test emails and I've purchased my download twice (from a different paypal and email than the one linked to the site) and we get no email (and therefor cannot download). How do I troubleshoot this?

  2. Are the payments marked as Complete in Downloads > Payment History?

yes. I did it twice and both are complete.

  4. Have you filled out the email receipt settings in Downloads > Settings > Emails?

how do I attach a screen shot here? (sorry!)

I'm going to be taking over from Pippin on this one. Simplest way of posting a screenshot would be posting the image somewhere (you can always upload it to your own site through the Media menu), and just pasting the link here.

Close, not quite. I can't get to that without being logged in. On that page, there's a box on the right titled 'File URL'. The link in that box is the direct link to the image (and what I need)

Well, that certainly looks good! Are you on a shared hosting account?

I don't know what a shared hosting account is. I set up paypal and hosted the file on amazon. I followed the advice of Mike Vogel's blog who loves this plugin

Let me rephrase the question. Who provides the hosting for the site itself?

ahhh yes, it's a company called Milkhaus. what does that tell us?

    ????

  17. If you go to Downloads > Payment History and click "Resend Purchase Receipt" on a payment, does it work then?

when I hit resend purchase receipt nothing happens. it starts to load but then nothing happens, and eventually I refresh the page

  19. Can you show me exactly what you have in the Subject line for the email? I can't quite see it all in the screenshot.

the subject says: Bay Of All Saints - digital download

thanks! I hope we can solve this

    [No bumping, thank you.]

  21. @eastmanannie Did you see my question above about the subject line?

I assure you, the plugin does work. I process a large number of sales every single day through, as do a large number of very large sites.

right. again, the subject line says: Bay Of All Saints: digital download

  23. Oh weird, your post above (from 22 hours ago) didn't show up until just now. Sorry about that.

As a quick test, can you get rid of the ":". Does that fix it?

If that doesn't work, then please install the Configure SMPT plugin: http://wordpress.org/plugins/configure-smtp/

OK - clarification, there were no ""
And what app do I need to install the configure SMPT? I tried to launch it and it opened dreamweaver?

  25. Just remove the colon. I.E. this >> :

You will install the Configure SMTP plugin just like any other WP plugin.

Do you mean remove the colon in the file name? There is no colon. This is what I see. I uploaded a screen shot of what I see when I unzip the file.

  27. No, I want you to install the Configure SMTP plugin just like any other plugin. The easiest way to do this is by going to the plugins page in your WordPress admin and clicking "Add New".

I want you to remove the colon form the email subject line in Downloads > Settings > Emails.

Ok, thanks! I just installed the Configure SMTP plugin.
Again, I see no colon in the email subject line in Downloads > Settings > Emails.
    What it said was:
BAY OF ALL SAINTS - digital downloads

I just removed the hyphen in case that's what you were seeing

  29. Yes, sorry, I really meant the hyphen.

Does the combination of those two things make a difference?

    no, nothing's changed.
I tried several "send test emails" and also tried to resend email from my payment history page and I've received nothing.

Does it have to do with my settings for the "success page" in the general menu? I'm going to try creating a new success page
