No Table Results in WP Search

    Hi Tobias,

    First, I want to thank you for a great plugin.

    I am having one problem that’s probably something simple. I have multiple tables on multiple pages. Only two are long enough to use the table search, which I have enabled and works fine.

    I have a WordPress search bar in the header that should allow search across all pages and tables, but it’s not indexing and showing table content in search results. Normal content shows as it’s supposed to. Just not table content.

    Hi,

    thanks for your question, and sorry for the trouble.

    Could this be related to the WordPress 4.8.3 update from yesterday or did you observe this before the update already?

    Thanks for the quick reply.

    No, this happened before the WP update. It was working, and then just stopped out of the blue. I didn’t make any changes to the site. It sat undisturbed for two days, I went to check on everything, and it wasn’t working.

    Hi Sean,

    ok, thanks for the quick reply. I can confirm search issues on my test site as well, so it’s possible that a recent update broke something.
    I’ll run more tests and investigate this as soon as possible. Hopefully, I can quickly present a solution.

    of course! If I ship an update, you should get a notification within your WordPress admin dashboard. If I find something else, I’ll post here again as soon as possible!

    Yes, good luck tracking down this search gremlin. Observed the same recently on my site (JazzBoulevard.ca) … suddenly Tablepress content is no longer being parsed by the search widget.

    The site is currently allowing automatic WP updates to be installed so must have been a recent one that broke something.
