  • *Edit: Support for WPGlobus since 1.2.8 – This developer is on point, thank you for your dedicated support.

    Titles on main banner section displayed incorrectly.

    From WPGLobus Plugin authors site:
    Some texts are displayed only in English, and there is no options panel to edit those texts.

    Looks like those texts are coming from the theme’s code, and they are not translated. We cannot help with this. Talk to the theme author.

    The theme has an options panel, and the texts can be edited – but only in one language.

    Enter the text in the internal WPGlobus format, like this: { :en }English Text{ : }{ :fr }French Text{ : } (no spaces within the curly braces).
    Install the WPGlobus Translate Option plugin: and use its panel to enable translation of your theme’s options.
    Theme displays titles, content or excerpts with the { : } marks.

    This should be the theme author’s coding mistake. To make sure, switch theme and see if the problem is gone. Then talk to the theme author.

    Hello @finditmike,
    Thanks for reaching out. Firstly, you have not mentioned which of the section title is not translatable as the theme strings are fully translation ready and some of the section title have an ability to change it from the Customizer.
    Secondly, yo should come to the support forum to find out the possibility and get update/customization (if needed) rather than writing review directly in order to avoid to seem intentional bad rating.
    Lastly, since there are number of translation plugins available, we have not even specifically declared compatibility with those third party modules, you should also be responsible to choose right one.
    Best regards

    There use to be a workaround listed on another review (

    This sorted the issue and allowed the plugin to display the appropriate translation for the main banner section 1.

    <?php echo apply_filters( ‘the_title’, $covernews_slider_title); ?>
    <?php echo apply_filters( ‘the_title’, $covernews_editors_picks_title); ?>
    <?php echo apply_filters( ‘the_title’, $covernews_trending_slider_title); ?>
    <?php echo apply_filters( ‘the_title’, $covernews_featured_news_title); ?>

    However since the latest update replacing with this code has broke the fix.

    Please tell me how to apply filter to main banner section 1 to allow WP Globus to display the correct translations.

    Hi @finditmike,
    Have you properly read our response on that?

    First off, thanks for reaching out. For you kind information the theme has a Customizer>Frontpage Options input fields (meaning directly from a database, but not from the files) for the mentioned title, from where you can update the title in your intended language or strings using that functionality.
    So, we do not thing it should be passed to the any filters to take control over it. Would you please confirm that first?

    You don’t need to translate the section title but there’s an option on customizer to update the texts on your locale. Please see the screenshots.

    WP Globus enables translation for selected languages.

    See our screenshot ( of the Banner Section customization menu. At the top is the earth icon for selecting language. Changing the language give us the option to enter a title for each language for each section, this aspect is working fine, however as you can see on the preview the titles display as { :en }English Text{ : }{ :af }Afrikaans Text{ : }

    This is why the filters are required for WP Globus to choose the correct text instead of escaping the HTML in these titles which are only changeable by the admin, should allow filtering.

    Like stated above the workaround was tot replace the code with the echo apply_filter however this last worked in 1.2.3, this fix now breaks the site.

    Titles are still showing incorrectly. Please allow compatibility with WP Globus.

    Hi @finditmike,
    On that case of third party plugin compatibility, we recommend you to customize the theme using child theme approach. For that you might need to use/hire expert WordPress developer. We will also add this on our future update milestone, according to feasibility, we will proceed that further.
    Best regards.

    Hi @finditmike,
    We have applied filters to the titles, would you please update your site with the newer version of theme and check if would help you. Lastly, as these kind of third party modules compatibility request are belonging to customization supports, we expect you will come on relevant support forums rather than stand with bad reviews. Also, hope you will remove this.
    Best regards
