No static files anymore with Google-Sitemap-Gener 4.0beta11, what then?

  • Hello,

I upgraded to the beta version 4.0beta11 in order to have custom taxonomies included and the changelog says the following: “No static files anymore, sitemap is created on the fly!”

I know the plugin automatically renamed sitemap.xml and sitemap.xml.gz to sitemap.backup.xml and sitemap.backup.xml.gz but do I have something else to do?

    1) Is there a way that I can verify it’s still working fine on Google webmaster tools or somewhere else?
    2) when you say “created on the fly”, is it normal that trying to access the sitemap.xml url it gives a 404 response… ?
    3) … and if not, what should I do?

    My website is http://www.gablabelle.com/

Many thanks for your time and help.

  • I would like to know this as well. The sitemap beta plugin generates 404 errors when i try to access it.

It can’t be good for it to generate a 404 error
